2005 is being heralded as one of the greatest vintages in Burgundy for both red and white wines. They are ripe yet balanced making for very age worthy wines at all levels of quality from Villages all the way through Premier and Grand Crus. Wine Spectator has said that "the quality of the 2005 vintage for red Burgundy is stupendous. It is simply the best young vintage I have ever tasted," and Stephen Tanzer has similarly said "that 2005 is potentially the greatest red Burgundy vintage I've yet tasted from barrel, and I've been sampling these wines in depth every year since the 1987 vintage."
Drouhin is a long-standing negociant in Burgundy that has a deep understanding of the region's various terroirs and the techniques necessary to capture their unique characteristics in the wine. The Wine Spectator recently said of their wines from 2005 that "the Drouhin team made a brilliant range of wines in 2005.
