Famous winemaker Ed Sbragia from Beringer has always dreamed of producing wines under his own name, and his efforts have finally come to fruition. A man whom Robert Parker has called "an undeniable talent," Ed Sbragia is now bringing that talent to his home turf of Sonoma County. JJ Buckley is pleased to offer two wonderful examples of Ed Sbragia's winemaking heritage.
The 2006 Sauvignon Blanc is the second vintage made of that varietal. Grapes come from the Home Ranch Vineyard, already known for producing excellent Chardonnay, fermented in 100% stainless steel. The bottle has a unique Vino-Seal glass closure, a hermetic seal that effectively protects the wine's nuances.
The 2004 Andolsen Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon is sourced from a vineyard in Dry Creek owned by the family's longtime doctor. It is aged for 18 months in French oak and has a typical Dry Creek character of rich, ripe cherries.

On the nose, big, bold dark fruit aromas swarm up front: black cherry, blackberry and cassis. A note of kirsch liqueur and violets are edged by a note of flinty minerality. Fairly bold and very fruit-forward on the palate. Thick, dark fruits again dominate, primarily blackberry and cassis. Good body front to back, with hints of sweet vanilla and cedar spice leading in to the lingering blackberry jam finish." - Mike Supple, JJB
