Founded by Adriano Ramos Pinto in 1880, Casa Ramos Pinto has since been respected the world over for its excellent port wines from the famous Douro River Valley of Portugal. In 1990, Ramos Pinto began a successful venture into the production of dry red and white wines, and today we are featuring the 2000 Duas Quinta Reserva, which was awarded 92 points and a glowing review from Wine Spectator.
The wine is blended mainly from Touriga Nacional grapes with a small amount of Tinta Barroca. It has a port-like character to it, with intense color and flavor. Enjoy with game, sausages, and dishes heavy on garlic. Don't pass up on this unbeatable price.

Wine Spectator, May 2004, 92 points: "Essence of blackberry, black cherry and cassis define this deep-flavored red. This has a Portlike aroma and loads of smoke and spice notes, which fold into the rich, intense finish. Drink now through 2008. 400 cases imported. KM"
JJ Buckley, Aug 2007: "Thick maroon and purple core with a fair amount of fine sediment. Dark spicy plum aromas up front are backed by light leather, fig, hints of violet and a touch of alcohol under a light flinty mineral note. A bit light on the front palate, but builds in body nicely on the mid-palate through the finish. Medium-bodied with fairly refined dusty tannins supporting the wine.
