Louis Jadot Collection

Louis Jadot Collection - Excellent range of wines from Burgundy

Today, we are offering a collection of wines from Louis Jadot, the famous and well-respected Burgundy producer. We want to clear some room for the arrival of the '05 vintage, so we are excited to be making the following wines available to you at good prices.

Whether you are a collector of Grand Cru Burgundy or someone who wants to explore other wines from the region, there is something for everyone with Jadot's offerings. Burgundy's numerous terroirs are its most exciting feature, and the winemaking process is always an attempt to capture the unique qualities of each of them. Almost every plot in Burgundy is truly individual in soil composition, in climate, and in countless other ways, forcing production to remain small and each wine to be singularly distinctive. For these reasons, Burgundy wines are a very rewarding investment and enjoyable endeavor.

Louis Jadot possesses numerous land holdings in the region, and their experience and expertise makes them one of the premier producers and negociants of Burgundy wines. Despite the size of their operation, Jadot is committed to producing a large range of superior Burgundy wines at all price points.

In Stock

2003 Jadot, Louis Pommard Clos de la Commaraine Pinot Noir 750ml - $47.99 (reg $51.99)
Wine Spectator, May 2006, 90 points: "This starts out earthy, yet there's a core of cherry and chocolate underneath and dense tannins. Despite it's earthiness there's a sense of gracefulness and the fruit really hangs in. Give this some time. Best from 2008 through 2018. 102 cases imported."
Burghound, Apr 2005, 87 - 89 points: "This too is very ripe with a subtle roasted plum quality to the black fruit, prune and cassis aromas but in contrast to the straight Pommard, here there is better precision and detail to the powerful and dense full-bodied flavors that explode on the strikingly long finish. This is by no means classic but it makes a real statement and fans of size and power should find plenty to like."

2003 Jadot, Louis Beaune Bressandes Chardonnay 750ml - $35.99 (reg $39.99)

2003 Louis Jadot Batard Montrachet Chardonnay 750ml - $184.99 (reg $199.99)
Wine Advocate, Jan 2005, 90 - 92 points: "Jadot's 2003 Batard-Montrachet (white) displays wonderful aromatic depth to its toasted mineral, floral, and verbena scents. Medium-bodied, fleshy, and seamless, this liqueur of mineral and bacon-flavored effort is well-balanced, expressive, and long in the finish. Projected maturity: 2007-2016. Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY; tel. (212) 490-9300"
Wine Spectator, Feb 2006, 92 points: "Ripe and accessible, this evokes butterscotch and vanilla flavors with peach and almond lurking beneath. Elegant, it increases in magnitude, ending with a long aftertaste of butterscotch. Drink now through 2012. 75 cases imported. –BS"
Burghound, Jul 2005, 90 points: "White flower and honey notes combine with texture, sappy, round and surprisingly soft and forward flavors of really impressive concentrated underpinned by a powerfully long, palate staining finish. This is already accessible, indeed surprisingly so for a young Bâtard yet it has the legs to run over the medium term."

2003 Louis Jadot Beaune Boucherottes Pinot Noir 750ml - $41.99
Wine Spectator, May 2006, 90 points: "A chocolate note highlights the core of black cherry and mineral flavors in this dense, vibrant '03. It's on the compact side right now, but should expand and open up with time. Good balance and finish. Best from 2007 through 2015. 58 cases imported. –BS"

2003 Louis Jadot Beaune Clos des Ursules Pinot Noir 750ml - $50.99 (reg $54.99)
Wine Spectator, May 2006, 90 points: "The new oak provides spice and chocolate accents the cherry and earth notes in this supple red. It's more accessible than its peers, but has the structure to age also. Drink now through 2015. 294 cases imported. –BS"
Burghound, Apr 2005, 88 - 91 points: "A wonderfully seductive nose of plum and spicy black cherry framed in obvious wood lead to very earthy, sweet and intense, gorgeously complex medium full flavors and excellent length. The overall impression is not as elegant as that of the Couchereaux but there is perhaps more depth of material here. A choice."

2003 Louis Jadot Chambolle Musigny Pinot Noir 750ml - $40.99 (reg $44.99)
Wine Spectator, Apr 2006, 90 points: "Pure cherry and pomegranate flavors accented by flowers, vanilla and a hint of chocolate in this medium-bodied red. It's elegant, distinctive and well-balanced, with ripe tannins for support. Fine length. Best from 2007 through 2012. 169 cases imported."

1999 Louis Jadot Chambolle Musigny les Feusselottes Pinot Noir 750ml - $54.99 (reg $59.99)

2002 Louis Jadot Chassagne Montrachet Chardonnay 750ml - $42.99 (reg $49.99)
Wine Advocate, Feb 2004, 88 - 89 points: "Liquid minerals can be found in the nose of the medium-bodied 2002 Chassagne-Montrachet. This gravel, spice, and mineral-flavored wine is lively, fleshy, and possesses a pure, suave finish."
Stephen Tanzer, Sep 2004, 89 points: "Complex, pure aromas of citrus skin and white flowers. Very firm, fresh Chassagne villages , with flavors of apple and pear blossom. Lovely acidity gives this wine grip and cut, not to mention good power on the lingering back end. A very good village wine."
Burghound, Jul 2004, 87 - 90 points: "Aromas of toasty oak, spice and herbal notes lead to big, rich, earthy and punchy medium full flavors that are remarkably precise and focused. In particular, I very much like the intensity and this is very classy for its level and it should reward 5 to 7 years in the cellar."

2003 Louis Jadot Chevalier Montrachet les Demoiselles Chardonnay 750ml - $224.99 (reg $244.99)
Wine Spectator, Feb 2006, 92 points: "Despite the deep color, this is fresh and terroir-driven. Just a hint of oxidation in the aroma, but the palate offers concentrated lemon, hazelnut and mineral flavors shaded by oak spice. The long, smoky finish indicates what's in store in a few years. Best from 2007 through 2012. 50 cases imported."
Stephen Tanzer, Sep, 2005, 94 points: "($330) Knockout nose offers an unusually wide spectrum of aromas for 2003: dried fruits, citrus, minerals, crushed stone, flint, petrol, white flowers and a leesy note. Then densely packed, seamless and powerful, with slowly mounting, brooding flavors of pineapple, wet stone, vanilla and nuts. Wonderfully silky and complex but very backward today. Finishes with superb persistence. This has all the elements for future greatness."
Burghound, July 2005, 91 points: "Easily the most elegant wine in the entire range with beautiful and quite pure white flower and ripe pear aromas nuanced by grilled nut notes that are followed by detailed and remarkably fine, mineral-driven flavors that deliver first class complexity. This coats and stains the palate and I particularly like how the dry finish lingers. This may be the most powerful Demoiselles in a long time."

2003 Louis Jadot Corton Charlemagne Chardonnay 750ml - $109.99 (reg $119.99)
Wine Advocate, Jan 2005, 90 - 92 points: "The intense mineral aromas of the 2003 Corton-Charlemagne (white) lead to a medium-bodied, seamless core of fruit. Silky-textured, it offers flavors reminiscent of grilled minerals, oak spices, and crisp pears. This fresh, well-structured effort is a candidate for drinking between 2008 and 2016+. Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY; tel. (212) 490-9300"
Wine Spectator, Jun 2006, 92 points: "An opulent, extroverted white, full of peach, lemon, vanilla and smoke flavors. It has a subtle structure that keeps it balanced and the finish is long, with a touch of heat that will become more integrated as this evolves. Best from 2007 through 2018. 175 cases imported. –BS"

2003 Louis Jadot Corton Pougets Pinot Noir 750ml - $74.99 (reg $79.99)
Stephen Tanzer, Mar 2006, 92 points: "($85) Saturated medium red. Distinct suggestions of surmaturite to the aromas of plum, currant, loam and chocolate. Sweet, dense and lush, with deeply pitched flavors of minerals and chocolate. Wonderfully concentrated and deep wine, finishing long and sappy, with big, dusty, sweet tannins. With extended time in the recorked bottle, the wine's extravagant ripeness became less apparent, and pungent notes of strawberry, cherry, minerals, flowers and earth emerged. A great vintage for this bottling and likely to be long-lived."

2003 Louis Jadot Echezeaux Pinot Noir 750ml - $125.99 (reg $129.99)
Stephen Tanzer, Mar 2005, 90 - 92 points: "Ruby-red. Captivating, superripe aromas of black raspberry, minerals and roasted oak. Sweet, suave and penetrating, with notes of minerals and graphite. Less dense and gripping than the Gevrey grand crus that preceded it, but this very stylish, juicy 2003 shows attractive minerality and noteworthy finesse."
Burghound, Apr 2005, 88 - 91 points: "Extremely ripe aromas of mocha, plum, prune and blackberry liqueur merge into round, rich, powerful and serious full-bodied, impressively concentrated flavors that culminate in a mouth coating, structured and persistent finish that ends with just a touch of dryness."

2004 Louis Jadot Grands Echezeaux Pinot Noir 750ml - $154.99 (reg $169.99)

2003 Louis Jadot St Aubin Chardonnay 750ml - $21.99 (reg $25.99)

2003 Louis Jadot Savigny les Beaune les Guettes Chardonnay 750ml - $31.99 (reg $34.99)
Wine Advocate, Jan 2005, 88 points: "Pain grille, minerals, and pears are found in the aromatics of the 2003 Savigny-Les-Beaune Les Guettes. Reminiscent of a Pinot Gris from Alsace on the palate, it exhibits flavors of ripe yellow plums in a lush, medium-bodied format. Exotic for a Burgundy, this expressive wine should be drunk over the next 3-4 years. Note: Three wines that were tasted as barrel samples in November, 2004 were re-tasted from bottle in June, 2005. The 2003 Puligny-Montrachet (rated 87 points) is medium-bodied, expressive and plush, yet focused; the 2003 Pernand-Vergelesses Croix de Pierre (88) sports a wonderful nose of flowers and red cherries as well as a deep medium-bodied character filled with stony dark fruits; and the outstanding 2003 Pommard Rugiens (92) is medium to full-bodied, dense, structured, intense, and crammed with dark fruits.Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY; tel. (212) 490-9300"
Wine Spectator, Jun 2006, 89 points: "Fine intensity here. It's bursting with lemon, mineral, butterscotch and vanilla notes, all mingling with the vibrant structure and harmonious profile. Lovely, lingering finish. Drink now through 2012. 101 cases imported. –BS"
Stephen Tanzer, Sep 2005, 88 points: "($36; bottled just two weeks prior to my visit) Musky aromas of minerals, ginger, pear and nuts. Stony and brisk on entry, then energetic in the mouth, with the mineral character following through. Finishes persistent and firm, with good grip. (Even Jadot's basic Savigny-les-Beaune, made with nearly 70% pinot blanc, showed juicy fruit flavors, lovely floral lift, and good aging potential.)"
