Great Pinot from a Premium Producer
2004 Pessagno Winery Spring Grove Pinot Noir - $29.99 (or buy 6 at $16.99)
A good California Pinot Noir for $17 is a rare find, which means that the moment a deal like this pops up, it should be taken advantage of. Only 387 cases of this wine were released from this outstanding producer of crafted Central Coast wines.
The Spring Grove Vineyard is a group of small properties located in the Spring Grove District of San Benito County planted exclusively with Pinot Noir grapes. The wine spent twelve months in French oak and has the unmistakable characteristics of a Central Coast Pinot. Don't pass this up.

JJ Buckley, Aug 2007: "Very clear in the glass with a bright garnet core surrounded by a reddish brick rim. On the nose fresh blackberry and blueberry fruit aromas are surrounded by smoke, leather and nice black and white pepper spice. In the mouth this is a juicy, medium-bodied wine. Flavors of strawberry and raspberry fruits are again accented by white pepper. Bold acidity keeps the wine fresh on the palate, and nicely ripe tannins give the wine a velvety finish. Very enjoyable." - Mike Supple, JJ Buckley
