2000 Bordeaux for $10.99

2000 Clos les Lunelles - $17.99 or buy 6 or more and pay only $10.99 per bottle

2000 Clos les Lunelles 750ml - $17.99 (6 or more - $10.99)

One of our best sellers in Bordeaux is being reduced in price one more time. If you want to try a ready-to-drink Bordeaux from the terrific 2000 vintage at an unbelievable price, this is it. The average US retail price according to WineZap.com is $22. You save 50%! The deal doesn't come around often, so stock up!.

Clos les Lunelles is owned by Gerard Perse (also owns Pavie, Pavie-Decesse, Monbousquet, and Belleveu-Mondotte). However, we have been told that Perse only "finished" the 2000 vintage and that 2001 was actually the first vintage where he managed from start to finish. The 2000 is not a typical Perse wine and is in fact lighter in style. Although never rated by Robert Parker, he has scored every vintage since then 90 points or higher (92,90,92,92, 91-94, 92-94). Only 1,700 cases produced from this Cote de Castillon vineyard, made from 38-year-old Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), planted on clay and limestone soils.

About Clos les Lunelles, Robert Parker has made such comments as: "Quickly becoming the reference point for wines of majestic richness and intensity from the Cotes de Castillon (a St.-Emilion satellite appellation that serious wine lovers should be checking out) ", "not surprising in view of the commitment to excellence exhibited by the Perses", "Although there have been a number of amazing offerings emerging from this appellation, this is a revelation", "If you can't afford the more renowned wines from Gerard Perse, check out this wonderful Cotes de Castillon."

If you're looking for a nice food wine with good acidity, medium body, along with classic Bordeaux flavors, then this is a must buy.

2000 Clos les Lunelles Bordeaux Blend 750ml - $17.99 (6 or more - $10.99)
JJ Buckley, Jul 2007: "Shows a light brick hue with a distinctly lighter rim. It offers an expansive nose of dried fruits, blackberry, fig. An understated aroma of stewed tomatoes arises with a little time in the glass. Ripe style with a lot of acidity and very light tannin. The midpalate is medium bodied with a woody undertone defined by cedar and spices. The strong finish lingers. Great food wine." - Alex Lallos, JJ Buckley
