2003 Chateau D'Yquem Half Bottles - On Sale $144.99 (Reg. $149.99)
Outside of 1967 and 2001, the 2003 Chateau d'Yquem is the Wine Spectator's highest rated Yquem going back 144 years. Considering the 2005 and 2006 d'Yquem retail for twice that of the 2003, this is the last vintage remaining before the 'price hike'. Every few years, a winery will raise the price of their current release and set a new benchmark for their price. Well, that happened at Yquem in 2005 and as suspected continued with their 2006. Sadly the release price of Chateau D'Yquem will most likely never go back down to previous levels again.

Wine Spectator, 98 points: "Subtle and racy, with lemon rind, vanilla cream and dried pineapple. Very spicy and intense. Full-bodied, with great length and flavor. Electrified yet refined, with medium sweetness and a wonderful finish. I love the class of this, and the length. Has afterburners. Best after 2010."
